Chris Allen

I am an independent Creative Director and graphic designer. With a background in Graphic Design from Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design in Canada, I have a diverse knowledge of graphic applications through 15 years of experience in visual and brand identity, print & publication design, packaging, web and digital applications.

As a designer, I am driven by the influence and power of design to change mass perspectives and I am passionate about using design to facilitate social and cultural changes. Over the years I have created visual identities for cultural organizations such as Ballet BC and digital experiences for luxury hospitality brands like Four Seasons. I have also partnered with Julien Christian Lutz (also known as Director X) on branding and strategy for his Operation Prefrontal Cortex initiative, a mindfulness program to reduce gun violence in Toronto.

I believe in the power of socially transformative design that weaves people, culture, environment and spaces together. I have had the pleasure of working with world-class brands, individuals and cultural institutions such as ASICS, Cinerama Los Angeles, Sheikh Zayed Museum in Abu Dhabi, Mejuri, lululemon, Indigo, Gagosian Gallery, Google, Audi, and Reigning Champ. Along the way, I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with photographers, illustrators, artists, and designers I admire. My passion lies in crafting beautiful communications and I believe the best work comes from collaborating with the best people.

Before going out on my own I was a Creative Director at Bruce Mau Design, I was also a founding member of Inventory Magazine.
